Ed got tickets for the Chihahuas game and invited us along. Brendan and Paige were worn out from the party and swimming so they stayed home. Even though we new El Paso had a baseball team, we hadn't been to a game yet and I was surprised at the size and look of the stadium. It was super nice. We arrived before Ed and bought tickets. The section he said he would be was sold out so we ended up in a section nearby. When we sat in our seats we saw that another person from the clinic was there so we invited her to come sit with us.
Partway into the game Jason texted Ed to see where he was. There was a mixup with his tickets and the ticket office gave him new and better seats. When he told us where he was (across the field) we realized that we could hear him since he cheers so loudly. We made our way over to where he was seated since there were many open seats. In fact, the whole sections was empty except for dental clinic people. That made it super fun.
I don't think anyone can cheer like Ed. He danced and whooped and generally was a super fan. It was so funny to watch. Jason danced with him too.
Ed is so loud that when a foul ball came nearby he convinced the player to toss it to him. Then he gave it to Darby.
We got some tasty food as well and took our picture with the mascot statue.
It began to rain briefly but stopped after a few minutes. Even though Ed had his "rally cap" (hat turned inside out and backwards) on, the Chihuahuas lost 14 to 5.
And then, as they do for home games on Saturday nights, there were fireworks on the field. It was so awesome! They rivaled the fireworks we saw in DC by the Washington Monument. They were close and right overhead. There was even a fireball at the end that you could feel the heat from. It was a fantastic night.
