Fort Bragg Fair

Every year Fort Bragg puts on a county fair-type celebration. It is usually in late May (that being the month of Armed Forces Day). Last year Jason was home on leave and we went. This year the kids enjoyed much the same rides except Eva was no tall enough to go on some by herself, and Paige was now the baby in the stroller, not Darby.

The big slides are always a hit.

Brendan even tried his hand at some of the carnival games. He didn't win; we are just glad he didn't shoot someone. But Jason spend about ten dollars and eventually won an el cheapo plush pig for Eva.

It was a great family Saturday. By the way, deep fried Oreos are pretty darn good. When at the fair, you must sample the cuisine, eh?

Daddy Jason

Jason had to complete some continuing education credits to keep up his dental license. He found a week long forensic dentistry conference in Arizona, near where we used to live. Lucky guy! He got to visit family and friends we haven't seen in years, eat at our favorite Greek restaurant, hike Camelback Mountain and generally get all nostalgic. I was jealous.

The kids missed him like crazy. When he is home they play outside,

go on trail walks,

maybe go fishing,

and generally mob him.

We really like Daddy Jason around here.

Lunch with Daddy

Jason has been pretty busy lately (plus a week long trip to AZ) and the kids don't get to see him much. He invited the girls and I to a picnic lunch on post last week. We ate behind the clinic in a cute little grassy area fenced in by trees. It was pleasant and the girls LOVE to see Daddy. I think we will need to do it more often.

After lunch the girls explored the trees Here they are trying to hide.

They also picked some flowers. Its pretty cute when a child gives you a flower they picked but when they start bringing you a lot of them (basically weeds) and want you to bring them home and keep them forever, that is another story. Any other moms know what I'm talking about?

Like a missionary

Brendan said he wanted to look "like a missionary" on Sunday. Jason gave him one of his polyester ties (a clip on) that was too short for him. And it fit Brendan perfectly. His first Wembley. A few of you will know the significance of that.

May the 4th be with you

Star Wars is a well loved movie series in this house. I told Brendan that it was Star Wars Day and he insisted on wearing this shirt to school.

We were excited to watch Episode IV for family movie night on Star Wars Day. So we popped popcorn and put in the movie. Too bad Daddy got stuck at work and missed half of it. And too bad the girls lost interest after the popcorn was gone. But Brendan LOVED it. A true Jedi.

Naps

This sweet little girl has now fallen into a pattern of a regular morning nap (we are working on the afternoon one being regular). She also has a regular bedtime of about 8:30pm. Life is so much better now and she is quite a different baby now that we are avoiding an overtired state (for baby and mommy - ha ha ha!)

Three month stats: 24.3 inches tall, 13.7 lbs. Such a cutie!
